Stormborn Brits Sales Policy
Here at Stormborn Brits LLC, we have a few policies in place that make us a little different. We work very hard to raise quality cats and finding proper homes for them is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our contract is in place to protect both you as the buyer, and us as the seller! We ask you review it carefully to understand your commitments. If in the case that your Kitten develops a terminal genetic health problem within the 5 year health guarantee, our contract does NOT require you to return your loved pet to receive a replacement. We do not believe in removing a loved pet from their home for this. Please see our contract for specific details. All kittens are sold on a companion contract with a sterilization agreement. Companion kittens are NOT undesirable, this just means that they will simply not be used for breeding. Stormborn Brits retains the right to hold, maintain or keep any kitten for our cattery FIRST. Additionally, we allow other approved breeders to get first pick AFTER Stormborn Brits has chosen. This policy is in place because we have partnerships with other Catteries and we believe that a Breeder should always get a breeding quality cat. Deposits are non-refundable and collected before kittens are born for potential candidates to be added to our waitlist. This is a "first come, first serve," policy, we go down our waitlist numerically, as we feel this is fair. If a candidate opts to wait for a specific color/trait/timeline/etc.. in a kitten, they can be transferred to a future litter and will get priority on that list. We do have every families best interest in mind, so at times we will have to hold a kitten who will need a specific type of family dynamic.
Reputation is very important to us!
We have spent years developing our Cattery. In that time we made no compromises in our cat's health. We run all of our tests to ensure our breeding cats will only produce healthy and sound, quality kittens. There are many unethical breeders out there who do not test and breed their cats solely for profit. These breeders also give no health guarantee and have no regard for their kittens after they go home. By running our tests, and evaluating each cat's temperament, health and structure, we are breeding with intention and produce cats that will fit within our expectations. Here at Stormborn Brits, you can ensure you are getting high quality, well rounded and healthy cats!

Color VariationsBritish Shorthairs come in SO MANY COLORS! There are simply too many to name. As a breeding program, we can only focus our attention on a handful of colors to maintain our standards properly. We focus on Reds, Blacks, Chocolates, Cinnamons, and their dilute versions such as: Creams, Blues, Lilacs, and Fawns. We can have Torties in these colors, and we also have Bicolors(meaning with white).
These photos are to show color examples, we do not claim ownership to any non-stormborn owned cats used as an example. |
Contract Policies
British Shorthairs have a few needs in regards to their health. We have established a few protocols in our cattery to ensure our cats and the kittens they produce are healthy, long lived Brits. These protocols are not up for negotiations if you want to maintain your contract with Stormborn Brits. These are in place for the well being of each Kitten, therefore if a protocol is not followed, the health guarantee with Stormborn Brits is void.
1. Feed a high quality diet
Feeding a high quality diet to your cat in their adult life eliminates many diet related diseases or ailments. Cats need moisture based diets, and so feeding both wet/dry is best. We have a list we recommend to choose from that we are happy to provide. This is how you maintain your 5 year health guarantee with us. We truly believe that Nutrition is the cornerstone for health in cats, so this is our #1 on our protocol list.
2. Spaying/Neutering
Unless you are receiving a breeding cat, all kittens produced by us are on a sterilization agreement. Spaying/Neutering your cat is required to keep your contract with us. Pet cats should be fixed by 8 months of age. If not fixed, males can get frustrated and spray, and females can go through heat cycles and could get infections from not being bred. This is so important for your pet's health, so we ask that you get your animal fixed.
3. Declawing
It is in our contract that our kittens should not be declawed. Declawing is now an outdated practice. Removal of a cat's claws affect how they walk and can lead to arthritic issues later in life. We do not agree with this practice for this reason. Keeping your cat's claws trimmed and maintained is best!
WELL BRED, HIGH QUALITY CATS AT A FAIR PRICE
We do not produce "cheap" cats. Breeding high-quality, cats that come from desirable imported bloodlines with excellent structure, health, temperament and soundness is no simple thing. Our cats are titled champions, which means multiple judges have evaluated our animals for correct structure and temperament. Additionally, we run all of our health screenings to ensure our cats are healthy and will not produce any kitten with a preventable genetic ailment or disease.
It takes years of time and effort to establish and maintain a cattery with that level of quality. Keep in mind that there is a fundamental difference between "cost" and "price". Cats described as above are worth the price while lower rate cats end up costing you later because they will develop health issues due to no proper testing or evaluation. We are firm believers in doing right by our cats and don't want anyone to live through that heartbreak for something that could have been easily prevented.
Quality does not, and will not come cheaply.
